Hey Paul! Groovy location. Ever been to a log cabin before?
Yeah! A while ago I took my ex-girlfriend to a little house in Spain. It was really remote like this. It was her birthday and I hired a chef and a band. We had peppered steak and listened to Spanish music. It was the most romantic thing I've ever done.
Sounds lovely. But has anyone ever whisked you away?
I like romantic weekends but I get shy if someone returns the favour. Nobody has, but I don't like that kind of thing. I'm more of a giving person.
If someone did surprise you, where'd you go?
To The Maldives. I love it - there's nothing there, the sea's clear, there are no phones, no tv, no stress.
When was the last time you went on a lads' weekend?
Two weekends ago in Surrey. We spent two days in the pub! I don't get to do it often 'cause when I'm away I'm working, and when I get home I want to stay there. Most of all, I like to go see my parents' in Spain, but there's not much laddy stuff you can do with your mum and dad!
a1 are a proper jet-set band. Where d'ya most like partying?
LA, for the music and the parties - and we met some really nice waitresses once...
'Nuff said! Do you party in your hotel room?
We always go to someone elses room! I just make my own parties - let's just say the fun would involve lots of girls! And I'm a big fan of the mini bar!
Ever been in trouble with the law abroad?
Yeah, loads of times in Spain! I drove a freezer van and you're only allowed two people in it, but I'd erm, got six in the back. I got a real telling off!

It's pretty romantic here. Would this be the kind of place you'd bring a girl?
Any girl would fall for a guy who brought her here. This house is incredible - the kind of things you see in films. I'd love to bring someone here and walk in the snowy woods and wear loads of cosy matching clothes. Yeah, matching clothes and mini skirts! (Laughs)
When did you last go on a smoochy weekend?
(Thinks) I never have! But I'd like to do it soon - you have to don't you?! I'd go to Venice, get in a gondola and we'd gaze into each others' eyes!
Are you better at boys weekends then?
Apart from on tour with a1, I havn't been on a boys weekend away either! Honestly! I've never been on the lash or anything. I don't feel like I've missed out... you've always got to have girls around!
Who'd be your dream party mates?
Austin Powers, Hugh Grant - that'd be fun - Antony Hopkins for some evil, spooky kind of excitement, and erm, Cindy Crawford. She used to sleep with me

She was right next to my bed on a poster in a red swim suit, so I'm sure she'd be up for re-enacting our past together!
Ahem! So, packed anything for this trip that you wouldn't want us to see?
My thongs! Now I've stopped wearing huge trousers and I wear flares instead, I can't wear boxers shorts. I wear my thongs. They're very sexy! (Laughs)
They sound a bit rude!
When I first wore them I felt really rude! I was walking around my room and kept seeing my bare bum - then I really liked it!
Do you feel like Sisqo?
No - because he didn't wear the thong - he just sang about it! He was all talk and no action! Sisqo actually wrote Thong Song for me!

What'd be your perfect boys' weekend away?
(Smiles) Well, the best place to go would be somewhere hot with a beach. And just by chance, the Miss Scandinavia competition will be being held there! In fact, I'd be asked to judge!
Where's the best place to party?
Some place it's easy to be a bit naughty - like Bangkok 'cause you get lots of rudie bars there, it's good fun for a group of lads.
Who'd you most like to get snowed in this cabin with?
A huge group of friends, because a cabin like this has loads of bedrooms. We could all play board games. Y'know I'd forgotten how good board games are. We'd have a party - sit round the fireplace and have a drink.
What about coming here with a girl?
I'd go somewhere like this but in the mountains. That way we could go skiing during the day and have fun in the slopes. And when we get home we'd be knackered and warm up by the fireplace or in the sauna.
D'you go on many romantic holidays?
It's something I wish I did more of. I went on a romantic holiday to Spain a while back. I'm quite into candlelit dinners - wining and dining.
So when you're abroad with a1, do you party hard in your hotel room?
I remember once we were in Sweden with Precious, Westlife, and loads of others and we had a party in Precious' room. It was wild and they threatened to throw us out! Some of us took this enormous champagne bottle from the reception up to the room but it was filled with vinegar!
Ever had a star strop in a hotel?
I was in bed in a hotel in Dublin and I found a used piece of women's underwear under my pillow! I complained - I was in there naked and there could've been all kinds of germs in there!

You're away from home with da lads. Are you feeling naughty?
It's nice to be away and have space and freedom. You have to take time out 'cause you might not come to these places again.
Ever used any tricks to get out of paying the bill in a swanky hotel?
(Laughs) This is so lame, but I have tried to cheat with the mini bar a bit. You take out the things from the front row and put the empty bottles at the back! That always works. I've even taken bites from bars of chocolates and then put them back! (Tsk!)
Naughty. So do you leave your hotel room in a mess too?
There's an ongoing saga with me and Ben where we trash each others' rooms as soon as we get somewhere. He started it! I'll get a knock on the door and he'll scoot in and trash everything. It's so bad, so out of order. We videoed it once too. It's funny.
If you had to arrange a stag weekend, what'd you do?
Get the groom so blind drunk they don't know where they are, then leave them naked in the middle of nowhere! That's classic isn't it?!
Ever snogged a foreign girl who couldn't speak English?
(smiles) About three years ago in Mexico. It made the flirting interesting 'cause you have to use your imagination! I mean, I was drawing pictures and everything! Literally the only language you have is the language of love! (laughs)
Would you come here for a birrov romance?
This is the ideal place to take someone away to. I'd love to have a little hut somewhere. It'd be great to come here at Christmas and go in the sauna and swim in the lake - naked! You could easily do that because it's so isolated!
And what makes a perfect romantic jaunt?
You've gotta do the full works and forget your bank balance! Obvious stuff is to get the hotel's top honeymoon suite - and make sure you really treat them right for the whole time.
